It is a truth universally acknowledged, that wedding planning can be super stressful! And expensive! Here are a few wedding tips to help keep you organized and help save money that we’ve gathered from our followers on Instagram who has gone through the wedding planning process!

GET ORGANIZED

We got quite a lot of tips when it comes to organizing yourself during wedding planning. Thankfully there are a lot of tools and resources out there!

Inspiration

Pinterest is a place full of wedding ideas that you can easily organize! Create specific boards for the separate details of your wedding such as wedding color inspiration, bouquet inspo, and centerpiece ideas! Pinterest also has plenty of checklists and timelines for wedding planning as well.

Instagram has also become a great place to gather inspiration! Follow wedding-related hashtags and wedding accounts, from there you can easily like and save inspiration! If you're unsure of what wedding color scheme or what type of flowers you like, try saving posts for a month and see if there's a trend in what you save. (We also recommend this method for deciding what type of floral preservation you like! 😉)

All the lists

While it may seem obvious, creating a list of your wedding planning to-dos can be very helpful. To not feel overwhelmed, one follower recommended breaking down the big to-do list into smaller to-dos so you feel accomplished when the shorter lists are completed.

Not quite sure where to begin with your list? You can purchase a wedding planner online that will help organize all the little details you may forget. Other useful tools are The Knot and Zola! Both of these websites provide tons of information and are the place to help you stay organized.

(Btw did you know that you can add your preserved wedding flowers piece to your registry? Zola and The Knot let you add cash funds so your friends and family can contribute to your piece!)

RSVPs

Guests may forget to put their names on their RSVP cards when mailing them back to you. To keep track of them, number your invite list and the back of your RSVPs. One follower used a pen with invisible ink and wrote the guests’ names on the back of the cards. What a genius idea!

You definitely don't want the anxiety of waiting on late RSVPs. To get your RSVPs in a timely manner, make the due date 2 weeks after you send the invites.

ASK FOR HELP

If you feel like you and your partner are spread too thin to accomplish everything you want for your wedding, there’s no shame in asking for help. This is what friends and family are for! Find two people who you trust to delegate tasks. A little bit of help from others, no matter how big or small can really make a difference.

Day-of Coordinator

A tip we received many times from our brides was to invest in a day-of wedding coordinator! This option is nice because you will have a person dedicated to managing the itinerary of the day, overseeing vendors, and managing last-minute challenges that may pop up! Basically, they will make sure your wedding day runs smoothly.

Wedding Planner

If you need more help than just on the day of your wedding, consider hiring a wedding planner. Your wedding planner will relieve so much of the stress and time it takes to plan a wedding. A good planner will know how to work with your budget to get the most out of it. Both your wedding planner and day-of coordinator are the experts, they know the ins and outs of weddings so you can rely on them to make your wedding experience great!

SAVE MONEY

Venue

Venue costs are often a large chunk of your wedding budget and definitely an area you may want to try to lower the costs. Explore city/government buildings and parks as a venue option. They can be more affordable and in great locations!

A tip from one of one follower was to book a newly opened venue. She booked a new venue so she was able to get a great deal on the space!

If you don't have the time or energy to find a venue and other vendors, consider an all-inclusive venue. I saved so much stress on finding vendors and coordinating.”

An all-inclusive wedding venue will generally take care of all of the vendors you may typically hire separately from the florist to the DJ. This is a nice option if you're short on time to plan your wedding. Going with an all-inclusive venue can also potentially save you money when you add up the costs of the separate items/vendors you would bring in yourself if you didn’t go all-inclusive.

Decor

The wedding decor is a common area in wedding planning where couples try to save some money. If you are going to attempt a DIY project double check that you will actual save money before trying the project! Definitely don't do a project to save money that actually ends up costing too much time and money! One of our followers saved money by using their custom welcome sign as their guest book. Another recommended gathering an assortment of frames from goodwill to use throughout the wedding!

We hope you found these wedding hacks useful! Thank you to all of our followers who have offered their advice and be sure to check out our Instagram where we share wedding-related info!
